CFAWL Angel Tree Project

CFAWL is once again hosting our annual Angel Tree Project benefiting the children at Rock Lake Elementary School. This year, CFAWL agreed to provide holiday gifts for sixty-eight deserving children in need. Currently, all 68 Angels have been adopted! If you have already adopted an Angel, please recall that the presents are due by Thursday December 11, 2008. Monetary donations are still being accepted to purchase additional gifts for children. The YLS Annual Holidays in January is currently scheduled for January 15, 2009. We need OCBA YLS volunteers to help throw a holiday pizza party, complete with presents, for the Downtown and Parramore Boys & Girls Club. Gift donations for children ages 5-10 will be collected at the January luncheons or can be dropped off at OCBA. Please contact Molly Young at myoung@bellroperlaw.com for more information

OCBA Strategic Planning Committee
This past summer, the OCBA formed a Strategic Planning Committee to plan for the future and growth of our organization.  The committee is in need of additional volunteers to create and implement action plans for the sub-committee issues.  If you would like additional information regarding this committee, please contact Melanie Shoemaker at MShoemaker@deanmead.com.   
 
Florida Bar Young Lawyers' Division - Affiliate Outreach Happy Hour
In January 2009, the Florida Bar Young Lawyers' Division will have its annual Affiliate Outreach at the Hardrock at Universal Studios to bring together YLS affiliate groups (county bar associations - YLS Sections- across Florida) together for a conference.  In connection with this conference, the OCBA YLS is hosting a Happy Hour on January 22, 2009 at the Hardrock at Universal Studios.  This is a great chance to not only meet and mingle with the OCBA YLS but young lawyers all across the state!    

YLS February 19, 2009 Luncheon
Mark your calendars for the YLS' February 19, 2009 luncheon at the Citrus Club.  David Henry, of Allen Dyer Doppelt Milbrath & Gilchrist, P.A., will present a one hour CLE on "Effective Preparation for Mediation." More details on the content of the program and CLE credit will be provided. RSVP to ocbayls@gmail.com.
