Modest Means Program
Do you need an attorney? We have an affordable solution.
For a referral to an experienced Modest Means attorney:
- Call OCBA at 407-422-4537, Monday - Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET
- Email the Lawyer Referral Manager, or
- Visit the OCBA at: Orange County Bar Association, 880 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32801
Who qualifies?
To be eligible to participate in the Modest Means program, you must verify with the OCBA that your income does not exceed the following monthly totals:*
- Family of 1 - $1,668
- Family of 2 - $2,109
- Family of 3 - $2,373
- Family of 4 - $3,361

Is there an application fee to receive a referral?
All clients must pay a non-refundable administrative fee to the OCBA before receiving an attorney referral.
- $50: Simple Will clients
- $100: All other clients
How much will the attorney charge?
Bankruptcy
- $2,000 - Chapter 13
- $1,000 - Chapter 7
Family Law / Domestic Relations
- Dissolutions, Child Custody, Spousal/Child Support, Visitation, Paternity, Adoption, Name Change, Modifications and Enforcement of Florida Support Orders (does not include Guardianship or Domestic Violence Injunctions):
$850 as an initial retainer; thereafter, $100 per hour for each hour the attorney works on the case beyond 8.5 hours - Enforcement and Modifications of Florida Support Orders:
$350 as an initial retainer; thereafter $100 per hour for each hour the attorney works on the cases beyond 3.5 hours.
Landlord-Tenant
$350 as an initial retainer; thereafter, $100 per hour for each hour the attorney works on the case beyond 3.5 hours.
Wills
- $100 - Simple Will
- $150 - Reciprocal Will Package
- $250 - Simple Planning Package (including Will, Designation of Medical Agent and Power of Attorney)
- $350 - Reciprocal Planning Package (including Will, Designation of Medical Agent and Power of Attorney)
*These totals represent one-half the Florida median income as of May 2008. Totals are modified annually to reflect current income levels.
