Young Lawyers Section

Purpose

The YLS's mission is to meet the unique needs and interests of new lawyers by (a) providing a forum for exchanging ideas and offering assistance regarding concerns common to the new lawyer; (b) offering opportunities to enhance their professional skills and knowledge, and ethical development; (c) providing opportunities for career and leadership development, mentoring, and relationship building; (d) offering opportunities to serve on public service committees and charitable projects; and (e) encouraging their interest and participation in the YLS, the Orange County Bar Association, the legal profession, and their communities.

Meeting Time and Location

YLS meets for lunch the third Thursday of the month from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Citrus Club, 255 S. Orange Ave., Ste. 1800, Orlando, FL 32801.

Please note: In an effort to promote efficiency, the YLS email address has changed to admin@ocbayls.org. The new account will allow you to RSVP directly to YLS luncheons by simply accepting the invitation included in the YLS e-mail!

YLS Mentoring Program

The YLS is implementing a YLS-law student mentoring program. YLS members will be mentoring second- and third-year law students. Each Mentoring Team will be paired for one year, during which the mentor and mentee will meet periodically to introduce the mentee to the practice of law.
