Director of Public Corruption  The Office of Monique H. Worrell, State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, is currently seeking a candidate for the Director of Public Corruption. In this role, the ideal candidate will oversee the Public Corruption Unit and the management of the Prosecutors and Staff assigned to the Public Corruption Unit. The Director of Public Corruption’s duties include, but are not limited to, the investigation and prosecution of crimes committed by law enforcement officers and appointed or elected officials. The selected candidate will be required to work on highly confidential matters involving potentially high-profile cases involving public servants and media sensitive investigations. Discretion and mature legal judgment is essential. Preference will be given to prosecutors with superior writing skills, significant trial experience, superior organizational and investigative skills and management skills. Preference will also be given to attorneys who have extensive experience handling criminal and/or civil cases involving public official or law enforcement misconduct and civil rights violations. A candidate’s background must demonstrate that they are willing to investigate and prosecute law enforcement or public officials where appropriate and try challenging cases. Must have previous experience with prosecutorial or criminal defense law, government or police agencies, investigative experience, knowledge of government processes and ethical requirements for law enforcement and public officials is desirable and will be considered.

Office of the State Attorney, 9th Circuit Paralegal Specialist  – Distinguishing Characteristics of Work The ideal candidate will be responsible for the legal analysis of criminal cases. Duties include reviewing and analyzing investigative reports, sworn statements and evidence received from law enforcement, tasking law enforcement for evidence needed to effectively prosecute a case, and assisting attorneys in preparation for trial.

Minimum Training and Experience Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice, legal studies, social services or psychology.  
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and successful completion of a legal assistant
education program approved by the American Bar Association; or
Graduation from a professional school of law accredited by the American Bar Association or
Graduation from an accredited two-year college and successful completion of a paralegal certification.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience as a Paralegal in the Criminal Justice field.
