2019 Officers of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges
Circuit Judge Alan S. Apte was elected and sworn in as Secretary of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges on August 7, 2018. Tasked with assisting circuit judges to more effectively and efficiently meet their constitutional and statutory duties and responsibilities, the conference provides educational opportunities and support for Florida circuit court judges.
Judge Apte was first elected to the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in 2002. Over the course of his career he has served in both Orange and Osceola Counties in the Juvenile, Criminal, and Unified Family Court, Domestic Violence, and Violation of Probation, and Family Divisions. He is currently assigned to the Orange County Domestic Relations Division.
Judge Apte received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry at the University of Miami and received his juris doctorate from the Nova University School of Law. He is a member of the Central Florida Family Law Inn of Court, the Florida Bar, and the Orange County Bar Association. Judge Apte is also a member of the Orange County Domestic Violence Commission.
Prior to his election as Secretary, Judge Apte served on the Executive Committee and the Educational Committee of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges. Officers of the conference serve a one year term.
