Cybersecurity for Lawyers: The Intersection of Competence and Ethics

The Technology Committee presents:
Cybersecurity for Lawyers: The Intersection of Competence and Ethics

Note: This will be a live webinar.

Description: Protecting attorney-client privilege in the digital age takes on many shapes and sizes, but remains paramount nonetheless. At the same time, lawyers must understand current technology and how it may benefit the practice of law. These two responsibilities may unknowingly conflict with each other, leading to potentially devastating consequences for unwary attorneys and their clients.

This seminar will identify ethical issues attorneys must consider when utilizing technology, such as licensing privileged communications to cloud providers, common threats criminals are using to steal sensitive information, and what an attorney must do in the event personal information has been compromised. Attendees should leave questioning whether their office is in the best position to protect attorney-client privileged communications and other critical information.
