The Construction Law Committee presents:
Passive Fire Protection in Residential Wood-Framed ConstructionDescription: This course is designed to teach construction law attorneys, and other interested parties, some of the basic code requirements regarding passive fire protection in wood-framed construction.
Subject Matter: Understanding basic residential code requirements regarding passive fire protection. Passive fire protection includes the fire-resistant materials and construction intended to compartmentalize fire and limit its spread. This is in contrast with active fire protection systems such as fire sprinklers and smoke detectors. Participants will learn what is required by code in this regard, and how such code requirements are commonly constructed. Examples and case studies of each type of fire protection features will be discussed.
Course Evaluation:
This course will conclude with a Question and Answer session involving the entire class to further expand on the topics covered.
After the Q & A session, every attendee will be given a course evaluation to complete. In order to complete this course an evaluation is to be completed and will be sent via email and must be returned to saki@fiebigarch.com.Location: This will be a Zoom meeting and instructions will be emailed 24 hours prior to the event.
