Diversity and Inclusion Certification Program Bundle

$120.00

The OCBA is doing its first ever Diversity and Inclusion Certification Program. The goal of the program is to have participants more informed about issues surrounding diversity and inclusion and their own personal implicit biases.

Each session will feature a moderator and panel of individuals both inside and outside the legal profession, including leaders from each represented community and the broader Central Florida community.

Participants must complete five (5) of the six (6) courses in order to earn the OCBA Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion Awareness.

Individuals who complete the certification program will be able to display a certification seal/logo on their law firm website as an indicator that they are dedicated to acceptance, allyship, and personal growth in order to better serve a broad range of diverse clientele.

Description

The program will include six (6) courses, which include:

  • Sex Discrimination Issues – March 10, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
    • Panelists Ani Newbern, Rhiannon Arnold, and Mariane Dorris will discuss the subject first from each of their unique perspectives. Jill Davis will then lead the “best practices” segment to discuss some ways organizations and companies get things right—and how they can get it wrong, too. This will be a fully immersed and interactive event (with situational awareness training as well), so come prepared with questions and ideas for discussion during our small group breakouts, and learn ways to meaningful promote diversity and inclusion in your own professional settings!
    • CLE – 3 Credits
  • Black Community Discrimination & Implicit Bias Issues – April 13, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
  • Asian American Community Discrimination & Implicit Bias Issues – April 20, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
  • Hispanic Community Discrimination & Implicit Bias Issues – May 4, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
  • Differently-Abled Community Discrimination Issues – May 17, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
  • LGBTQ+ Community Discrimination & Implicit Bias Issues – May 31, 2023 from 9am – Noon at the OCBA Center
