Florida Sales & Use Tax – What Every Lawyer Should Know – January 8, 2020
The Business Law Committee presents:
Florida Sales & Use Tax – What Every Lawyer Should Know
Description: An introduction to sales and use tax law in Florida but also encompassing advanced concepts for those already familiar with this area. The presentation will discuss general transactions subject to sales and use tax, provide an update on statutory changes, and outline the criminal and civil penalties at risk when a business collects (or does not collect) sales tax. Industries in the crosshairs of the Florida Department of Revenue will be examined with potential issues for each industry. Knowing the Department considers taxpayers guilty until proven innocent and how the Department does so is a critical component to advising clients. This is a must for all lawyers…because what a lawyer does not know can hurt everyone!
